Fishing planet crappie texas9/16/2023 Cedar Creek has a very healthy shad population and a very healthy white bass population. It was caught in 20 - 20 feet of water on a brush pile on a main lake hump. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I catch 2 lbers every week - it's just that this week I spent a lot of time on the water.Īs you can see, this fish is pretty fat. Here's a picture of a 2lber I caught yesterday on the scale. I had 3 more that were around 1.8/1.9 lbs and a little over 14". 2 of those were a little over 15" and slightly over 2 lbs. I've caught 136 crappie so far since Dec 23rd. I planned to post some pictures here and my results tomorrow but since it's relevant, thought I would provide my 2 cents here. I've fished almost every day while being off and sometimes 2 times (morning/afternoon trips). You can also catch a lot of pickerel here, if you switch to a "slow" reel in in your last 30-20ft you almost always get a bite just in case you're interested.I live on Cedar Creek lake and have been off work since Dec 23rd. If you have trouble finding it let me know and I'll log in so I can give more specifics. There should be two patches of lilies directly across from you and if you cast straight out kind of inbetween them and use stop and go with the gold spoon (treble hook spoon) you'll catch endless bass too. This is also a great place to catch bass on LS. There should be a patch of lily pads on your direct right in close to shore if you cast directly up to the upper left hand side using crickets and a bobber you will catch a billion trophy crappie. There's a small opening that looks like you can get close to the water but you can't (I believe it's the first or second opening down you should have an open casting range in a V with lilies all round it). On Lone Star choose the spawn near the bridge then follow the path to your left (towards the all the lily pads) just a short ways down.
